I am going to get the 2g. Along with that I am also going to get a Best Buy Geek Squad 2 year extended warranty where they will replace it if say, the battery starts to lower. So Thats exactly what I am going to do, wait until the 3rd gen comes out, complain that the battery is sh*t and they will HOPEFULLY give me a 3g since they will most likely not carry the 2g.

Does that sound like it would work?

It is my guess that they might just replace the battery.

Well if they don't sell anymore, doesn't that leave them no choice but to give a 3g?

Well I don't know about you people down there, but up here, If you say your battery is going crap, you get the battery replaced. And if they want to replace it, they may replace it with a refurbished one, or if none available, a new one.

They wont replace the battery unless they send it to apple and i dont think best buy deals directly with apple....Everyone is afraid to take apart an ipod....Heck the apple store near me wont even take them apart to fix a battery in my old ipod....Weird!
