How come my 1st gen ipod touch on the same firmware as my iPhoen 3g picks up more wifi spots in the SAME location and can connect to most, where as my iPhone hardly picks them up or cant connect.
    :/

both jailbroken and pretty much same apps...

I just want to know why its doing this to me its bloody annoying a si use iPhone more >.<!

Only a random guess as I don't have my iPot anymore but a better WiFi antenna in the iPot.

The 3G has a lot more going on inside and I'm only assuming that some items may suffer from the extra stuff crammed inside the case (more electronic noise and a lesser antenna).

The WiFi antenna on the 3G is limited to a small section on the backside of the home button; the cellular antenna attaches to the chrome bezel and I would guess that Apple's goal was to get the phone the greatest cellular coverage that they could.

Again I no longer have my iPot but I believe the WiFi was attached to the chrome back on the first generation touches and therefore it probably does have a better WiFi range.
