This is a discussion thread for the "iPhone Usage Among Teens Approaching 1 in 2" story posted on the front page.
you can't use only 7,700 teens and say it's 1 in 2 and want us to believe it's an accurate number. you need at least 1 million. otherwise this is just bullsh*t
Maybe change the title to 'Survey Says'. The current title suggests it's a fact, which is far from true.
I imagine teens would primarily be iPhone users, since many of us built up an extensive iTunes library over the years leading up to and since the iPhone launch.
It's true! Like 6 of the kids in my writing class of 10 students have iPhones! How the heck do they pay for the plans? Not to mention I can believe some would lie to make themselves look cool.
I wouldn't pay for more than $30-ish a month if I had a kid. I probably wouldn't let them own their own phone unless they were responsible, trustworthy, etc. The kids in that class browse the web and don't even know how to write a paper. -_- it's annoying because it's such a disturbance to other students.
I am not a teen, but for the longest time I used my iPhone 4 on Gophone, for $25/month. 3G was not a concern since I have wifi almost everywhere I go, and I don't do much browsing on the go. Now Straight Talk works on the iPhone and it's $45 for an unlimited plan, and I'm using that. No need to pay $100+ for a contract plan.
When I look at what the people on the busses I take to school are using I'd say this survey is wrong.
