My friend is giving me his iPhone 2G tomorrow and it has some issues... the middle of the touch screen is dead, apparently it overheated and burnt and the speakers are slightly dodgey.

Firstly. Can I replace the speaker?

Secondly. The LCD is fine but if i put an iPod touch 1G touch screen in to the iPhone would it work?

Well, I don't know how it happened, it isn't my iPhone yet, he still has it.

Nope, I know that I can buy another iPhone touch screen but I'm a bit low on cash at the moment. I need to know if I can use my old iPod touches touch screen on that iPhone.

    try www.dealextreme.com

they may have a replacement available and they are SUPER cheap for parts.

shipping may take a little way (read: a couple weeks)
