What has happened is your phone was upgraded, but not re-jailbroken. The iPhone 2g models don't update the baseband anymore, so once they're unlocked, they're unlocked for good, even after being updated. Your phone is not hacktivated though. In order to do that, you will need to turn it off, turn it on, and put it in DFU mode. There are a million threads on this forum on how to do that, so if you are unsure, you shouldn't have a problem finding one. It will show up with a black screen on the device, and say it needs to be restored in iTunes. Restore it to 3.1.2. Jailbreak with blackra1n, and it will automatically hacktivate for you.

    That will fix it.

First, if the guy shows up on the iPhone, that means it's 3.2.1 FW right? Also, I tried it but it's still stuck.

If I try to downgrade so I can use redsn0w, it says this:
the iphone iphone could not be restored. an unkown error occurred (23)

Also, I tried using iREB but it didn't produce the white screen.

Click the logo that represents your operating system, run the program while your iPhone is in DFU mode after a restore, jailbreak/activate it. Start texting and stuff.
