iPhone stuck at black screen.

    My iPhone is stuck at a blank black screen. What can I do to bring it back from the dead?
    It has firmware 2.1

    calm down you guys, unagutiboi you are not screwed. Does your computer recognize the iPod at all like does it say "unrecognized usb device" or something like that when you plug it in?

    help please!

    i tried jailbreaking my ipod touch 2nd gen and it worked but i had to reboot, and now that ive done that im stuck on a black screen. iTunes will recognize it but it comes up with an error wen i restore it so it wont let me restore. and ive tried doing the hold home and power button for 10 seconds then release power button and continue holding home for 8 more but nothing happends...i think i just screwed up my ipod real bad, please help D:

    Ok, you need to hold down the home button, then whilst holding. put the usb into the iphone, keep holding the home screen until it shows the picture telling it to plug it into itunes, it will then restore, then u need to update it and your done

    This happened to mine, but I just kept on trying to put it in to DFU mode or Recovery mode, then it worked.

    i found out wat i needed to do, i needed to plug it into a different computer with itunes and download firmware 2.2.1 and itunes will let u restore on the new computer unlike how it didnt on ur normal computer, and now ur ipod is just like it was on the day u opend it from the box =] hope this helps someone else!
