I have heard of a signal booster that plugs into the headphone jack but it had a rediculous price tag

Long as it's not that cheesy semi-metallic sticker signal booster. You get what you pay for

There's an app called "wifi trac" which lets the iPT connect at much lower signal levels, this will have the same effect as having a signal booster.

Actually, I own the app and it will show you many different WiFi signals that you do not see in the settings app, but You are unable to connect to 95% of them.

Wilson Electronics has this iBooster made specifically for the iPhone. I use one for my iPhone and I have signal in places where I didnt before. Pretty cool gadget if you ask me. Its not cheap, but it works and like sjxh2 said, "you get what you pay for."

Honestly I have only tried the metallic strip that goes underneath the battery and it does nothing.. I don't think someone who is trying to use signal would use the cradle of anything like that.. It's just not reasonable.. I think something like a case like an otterbox would do well with an internal antenna or something but otherwise I believe nothing else would work..
