From what I have heard from another forum post elsewhere posted some weeks ago (exactly how trustworthy is another thing) but Springboard was to be replaced in the next firmware by a similar setup that currently exists but with the ability to have categories of apps, like the JB categories app at cydia. I mean, it makes sense, almost everyone I know with an iPod Touch or iPhone have more than seven pages of apps to scroll through. The average person sorts them into categories per page but it is very easy to run out of space when using the standard 4x4 x 9-page springboard.
