i just recently purchased an iphone (2 days ago) but before that i had an ipod touch. with the touch i was able to setup itunes so i could manually put songs/videos/etc on. with the iphone, it tells me to erase my ipod when i select the manual sync when i connect it to a second machine. should i go ahead and erase it? will everything work afterwards like it did on the touch? am i screwed, so i have to choose which computer i want to manually xfer my songs and stuff from?

You can have any number of libraries on itunes, i.e connect any number of ipods/iphones to the same computer. You just have to hold down shift when you open itunes and select the library you want.
