Myself and a colleague of mine have been trying to sort his iPhone 1G out for the last few days. It suddenly stopped charging from a USB properly and then crashed out to the Apple logo. We can get it into DFU mode but it's not recognised by iTunes when it is. When not in DFU mode it stays on the Apple logo until the battery dies and then just shows the low battery sign whenever we turn it on. If we try and charge it then it goes to the Apple logo but will discharge back to zero again in the space of a few minutes.

I'm sure it's a battery issue and the low battery condition while in DFU mode is the reason it's not being recognised by iTunes.

But before we do something more drastic with it can anyone offer any advice?

    Thanks in advance.
