So about 3 weeks ago i dropped my iphone in the water. Put it in rice and now it works, except the display. It shows the white and grey lines going vertical, but i can still make out my apps a little. So i ordered a new lcd and installed it and turn it on to find out the screen is just blank white. I've searched high and low for the pass 2 weeks to see what the problem could be. I double tripled check the connections and took the whole phone apart to look for corrosion. I'm thinking it's the phone itself, but i'm hoping not. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

I have the white screen of death on my 3GS too, after i ripped some of the ribbons when replacing the front glass pannel. I think it's caused by a bad LCD, but again I'm not sure so I didn't bother getting one. I will tell you more about it tonight after I come back from the apple store with the purchase of my new iPhone 4.

My guess is that the problem is with the logic board and not the LCD..
