Yes, I've seen it but I didn't really understand it. Could it mean that one could use the jailbreaked (jailbroken?) firmware to install apps and that these would then continue to function on the real official unjailbreaked firmware?

That would be exceedingly cool in terms of battery life problems which many claim is due to the jailbroken firmware.

this is pretty cool, definitely a developers handy tool...but what if u want to stop doing this how would u combine the 2 partitions back?
I know this is very common for ppl with XP and Vista i almost did this with my computer when vista first came out

This could be fun. When they release there custom firmware thing. I smell Linux. I think with this, the firmware hack and if someone hacks the sdk porting things like Linux and rockbox wouldn't be such a breaking task.

No its would be just like have 2 iPods in one. One is Jailbroken and Other is not the things you do in one do not effect the other at all. Bit instead you just have one iPod with 2 firmware's and you can switch between the 2 Firmwares and one is Jailbroken and other is not. what you do with one doesn't effect th other.

    Does that help?

sounds like an awesome idea for dev teams. this would probably save a lot of time developing apps for multiple firmwares and having a usable device that wouldn't be limited due to developer firmware restrictions
