Thank you and have a nice day. If you want me to add anything just pm my box and i will be sure to add it. ONCE AGAIN, PLZ SEND ME AN IM OR PM IF YOU WANT ME TO ADD A NEW WORD WITH ITS DEFINITION, I REALLY DONT WANT TO HAVE TO SCAN THE THREAD FOR SUGGESTIONS. THANK YOU ALL CREDITS FOR THIS GUIDE GO TO ZombieKiller The original link is http://www.ifans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=136679

Also i reserved 3 spots to extend my guide for pictures and words

    A

Activation: When you first purchase your iPhone all you can do is call 911 until you activate with AT&T (or similar). If you are using an official Apple carrier carrier then you can activate through iTunes; otherwise you will have to perform a hack to activate your iPhone. Once activated it becomes an iPod touch with camera and bluetooth at which point you will want to proceed to jailbreak and possibly unlock it for use on other carriers.

Apple: formerly Apple Computer, Inc., is an American multinational corporation which designs and manufactures consumer electronics and software products. The company's best-known hardware products include Macintosh computers, iPod portable media players, the iPhone, the iPad and the Apple TV

App: It is a program that runs on the iPod/iPhone/iPad/Apple TV.

App Store: The App Store is an application for the iPhone, iPod Touch and the iPad created by Apple Inc., which allows users to browse and download applications, from the iTunes Store, that were developed with the iPhone SDK and published through Apple.

    Apple TV: TO BE ADDED

    Apple TV2: TO BE ADDED

    B

Baseband: The Baseband controls the interaction between the Phone part of the iPhone and the operating system. Whenever the iPhone needs to talk to cell towers-- whether for voice or data-- it works through the Baseband. The Baseband is responsible for making sure the SIM-card is valid and for getting Signal. When you unlock your iPhone the baseband is modified to allow communication to other wireless carriers.

Bootloader: There are at least two bootloaders in the iPhone. One is the ARM Core Bootloader and deals with the Operating System, the other is the Baseband Bootloader. Bootloaders make sure that when the iPhone boots it is doing things in the right order, and getting everything done. Currently the iPhone has shipped with two different Baseband Bootloaders (3.9 and 4.6). The 3.9BL allowed us to load a hacked baseband which matches the firmware version. Apple changed this feature in the 4.6 BL and made it require a baseband of a newer firmware version. This is why the Dev Team has released a 3.9 fakeblank BL which allows you to load a hacked baseband matching your firmware version.

Brick: When used in reference to electronics, "brick" describes a device that cannot function in any capacity (such as a machine with damaged firmware). This usage derives from the machine now being considered "as useful, and as entertaining, as a brick."[citation needed] The term can also be used as a verb. For example, "I bricked my MP3 player when I tried to modify its firmware."

In the strictest sense of the term, bricking must imply that the device is completely unrecoverable without some hardware replacement. If the device can be repaired through software or firmware changes, it's not a brick.

    C

Chronic Dev Team: The Chronic Dev Team is a team of developers made up of, but not limited to, chronic, ius, westbaer, AriX, pod2g, and probably more. Chronic Dev Blog

comex: The developer of the Spirit Jailbreak - allows you to jailbreak any model/generation iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad running on Firmware 3.1.2/3.1.3 or 3.2. He also is known for the website jailbreakme. Now an intern at Apple Inc

Cydia: Cydia is a package installer developed and managed by Jay Freeman (aka saurik). It's essentially an App Store for jailbroken applications.

Cydia Store: Allows you to purchase various jailbroken third-party applications. For jailbroken applications that are not free.

    D

DFU: DFU or Device Firmware Upgrade mode allows the S5L8900 to be restored from any state. It resides in the VROM and is vulnerable to the pwnage 2.0 exploit. In other words... its like Recovery Mode, but used if your iPod/iPhone is "severe" condition. Also has since been released for the iPhone 3g, iPod Touch 4G and iPad known as SHAtter exploit and also used in the iphonelinux project

    Code:
    How To Enter DFU Mode:
    1. Put the iPod/iPhone in Recovery Mode, and have the iPod Cable Connected. (See Recovery Mode)
    2. Hold the Home button for 5 Seconds.
    3. Without letting go, Hold the Home and Sleep Buttons for 10 Seconds.
    4. Let go of the Sleep button, and keep on holding the Home button for 30 more seconds.
Dock: The Dock is located at the bottom of the Springboard, which hold 4 Apps. The Apps do not change when the Page is changed on the Springboard. The iPad and iPad 2 can hold 5 Applications in the dock

Dreamboard: An Alternative to Winterboard that makes customizing the springboard easier than ever. Works the best on A4 and A5 devices

    E

E.G: Another way to say "For Example". It is an abbreviation of Latin phrase exempli gratia.

    F

Firmware: Firmware is a term sometimes used to denote the fixed, usually rather small, programs that internally control various electronic devices. Typical examples range from end user products such as remote controls or calculators, via computer parts and devices like harddisks, keyboards, TFT screens or memory cards, all the way to scientific instrumentation and industrial robotics.

Firmware Umbrella, The: Essentially the coolest thing since sliced bread. Created by @notcom. This program allows the iOS device user to magically restore their device to a previous firmware as long as they have the SHSH blob stored on Cydia's server.
    http://thefirmwareumbrella.blogspot.com/

    G

geohot: A developer who has successfully managed to jailbreak various firmwares and devices such as the iPhone and iPad.

    H

    I

Installer: Installer is a 3rd party application that was created by Nullriver. It is now being developed by R.I.P Dev, but it will never be the same... OH GOD NO!!!

iPhone 3GS: Essentially an update for the iPhone 3G. Its features primarily consist of faster performance, a camera with higher resolution and video capability, voice control, and support for 7.2 Mbit/s HSDPA downloading (but remains limited to 384 kbps uploading as Apple had not implemented the HSUPA protocol). It was released in the U.S., Canada and six European countries on June 19, 2009, in Australia and Japan on June 26, and internationally in July and August 2009. Originally came with iPhone OS 3.0. But has been remedied by a case that goes on the iPhone 4. Was the first iDevice to feature a white model deriving from their traditional black models and also the first device to feature a 1 GHZ processor known as the A1 processor.
