I've been looking to buy a iPhone 3GS that's unlocked or with 3.1.2 firmware. One of the guys I contacted said that the iPhone 3GS that he's selling is a 'Euro Spec' version that comes sealed and factory unlocked from Apple.

Is there any validity to this? I don't want to buy a KIRF. Has anyone bought a 'Euro Spec' iPhone?

    Thanks

Thinking logically, doubt that Apple would make a specific iPhone for Europe, I think they have one for China, but think that was the phone company that just blocked the Wi-Fi service on it.

If it was me, i wouldn't since it could be one of the fake iPhones that came into the picture a while back.

They don't make special ones per-say, the just have them factory unlocked.

Okay? A lot of countries have laws making cell phone companies sell only unlocked models.

Really doubt that, Since governments can regulate products on sale, but not the state of the product.
