    Custom firmwares can be loaded via iTunes.
    They can be pre-activated, jailbroken, or unlocked.

    it means you can create your own firmware. i.e make your ipod do whatever you want so for example... hmm well you could make it so your firmware........ hmmmm.... ummm. oh you could make. oh u could make like if you titlted your home screen to the side it would turn. or anything you want really

    Yeah, good luck with that one.
    Bypassing the AES check doesn't mean we can somehow magically edit everything about the device..
    You'd need to code that into SpringBoard, or possibly patch it, but it's probably not possible or worth anyone's time.

    Wow, that sounds truly astonishing. Can't wait for the release!!
    I offer myself as a test subject. I have a 1.1.4 16GB Ipod and use a PPC Mac (10.4.11, but can upgrade to Leopard if necessary).
