    Few iPhone Connection Questions

    1. Can I make WiFi stay on even when the iPhone is in sleep mode? So that I get push notifications via WiFi and not Cellular Data? Is there an non-jailbroke way? Since when I get iOS 4.0 I don't think it could be jailbroke for a bit.

    2. If there is no cellular data (E.G. I turn it off), and WiFi turns off when in Sleep Mode. When I wake the iPhone up. (Go onto the springboard). Will it instantly connect back to WiFi and start searching for Push Notifications?

    3. What is the order of connectivity?
Say I have WiFi at my house, but have data on my Sim aswell. When it connects to Safari and stuff. Which connection will it use. 3G or WiFi. I heard it searches for WiFi first. But not sure. Want to make sure it use's my house WiFi. Otherwise I have to disable cellular Data when I'm at home

    4. Is there an App to make Push Wi-Fi only? So even if I have a data plan. Push notifications will only work when WiFi is active. And when it is not. They will not work?

    5. How often does it check for Notifications when the screen is off. As it is then using 3G. How often does it check. And how much data will it use?

    6. If I do jailbreak and then get an app to keep WiFi always on. Does that mean push notifications will work via WiFi when the screen is off?

    7. Can I turn push off when Asleep. So when I am using my iPhone it can check for Push. But when it's asleep it does not connect. Other wise it will be a pain to disable Push when going to school since there is no WiFi...

    Thanks. Please reply ASAP

Get keepawake from cydia. This will keep wifi on. And yes you do need to jailbreak for that. To stop push from coming just disable them. If you are on wifi data automatically turns off so no need to worry about getting them on 3g when connected to wifi.

    Thanks.

Is there a jailbroke app that turns push off when asleep/can make push wiFi only. And how much data does push use. If it goes through 3G every 15 minutes. How much data will it use a day? I'm only on 500mb a month so...

Just still wondering. How often does it check for Push via 3G. And how much data will it use a day/month... Since i'm on 500mb a mothn.

Also, can I turn it off via 3G. So it only works on WiFi.

I have another question. Does it download much data when it checks, I heard it uses about 0.4mb when getting FB notifications. But say it gets no notifications and gets 1 app store notification a day. How much data really. I want Push on but...

Thanks again. This will be on the iPhone 3GS. On 3.1.3/4G

On iOS4, you'll have persistent Wi-Fi, which would probably work nicely with you.

    Thanks.

Just want to be sure, does Push (Not Email, just notifcations) Check and use data every like 15 minutes.

Or does it check and ONLY use data when it gets a notification (Like App Store/Facebook update etc)
