How about an Iphone Compatible Skin for ifans.com for vbulletin? as many of us (well most of us) have ipod touches or iphones and if we visit the website without the compatible skin, then it will lag our loading speed on the ipod touch or iphone.

    How about it?

    Never mind

    4) Making a iPTF Mobile Version
Suggestion: Making a version of the forum specially optimized for the iPhone/ iPod Touch
Chance of Happening: None. Bgizzle has said time and time again that it won't happen.

just looked at it now, sorry for the thread.

I constantly test and tweak the site for good performance and display. I use both an iPod touch 2G on a WiFi network as well as an iPhone on the 3G network, and it loads quickly and correctly on both devices.

It takes forever to load on my phone. Which is acceptable, except for the fact that the layout changes as the different parts load. This causes you to think you're clicking on a link, but to actually click on a different link. It's actually quite annoying and bothersome, and makes browsing this site on my phone a real drag.

+1. This happens to me all the time. I'll try to visit a forum, but instead be taken to someone's user profile.

Thanks for reporting that guys. That's actually a regression of a bug that I had fixed before. Try again now, it shouldn't do that any more.

I know that this is a lot to ask, but if someone can make a video or give a sort of play by play description of stuff appearing on the screen, it would really help me narrow down the problem. I have really good 3G reception here so I can't force the phone into EDGE mode to see how it loads when things are slow.

It happens on WiFi too. It's simply the layout changing/compressing (settling?) as more stuff is getting loaded.

I can tell you what happens. The browser renders it as it comes in, then once it is finally loaded it renders it again. By then you will usually have scrolled down, and it snaps back to the top, as part of the rendering process.

    Got me?

Just wanted to point out that mobile themes really aren't too hard to make. Maybe ask MMi for advice on it?
