My iPhone 3G (latest firmware) is automatically holding down buttons. I don't know if it's a software problem or if the buttons are physically bingeing held down, but its not the case. I cant even have it unlocked for a second before it locks itself again. And the volume automatically turns down to minimum. When I try turning it up it just turns turns down again. So please help forum, hopefully I don't have to restore?

Pretty much, it changes so sometimes its not being held down. The only button that isn't being held down is the home button

My iPod Touch 1st gen did this a couple of years ago, I had to ring up the Apple dealer and they came and collected it. Turns out that it was a common fault and they gave me a new one straight away as I was within the year of free insurance.
