What will happen if I update to iOS 5.1? will my jailbreak be removed?
    Also should I?
My battery isnt so good so I'm leaning towards the updating but I also want to know, since it's jailbroken will an OTA update mess up my phone in any way?

Please Answer the Poll, and thanks!

1)yes you lose it dont update
    2) OTA wont work it just wont allow you to
3)just make sure that you dont have too many tweaks

Just because the changelog states that battery performance was improved doesn't mean you should jump right on, especially if you're jailbroken and you know the current situation between A5 and jailbreaks.

Wait until there's some feedback on wether it's been improved or not and then decide if you want to lose the jailbreak for better battery life, if there is.

I used 5.1b3, and battery life was amazing. I say go for it.

That said, what was it before, vs what is it now? "Amazing" can mean so many things. I could get 10 hours standby- 5 hours use on 5.0, when I upgraded to 5.0.1 it went to 4 hours standby and less than 1 hour use time....so if 5.1 brings me back to 5.0, I would not call that "Amazing", but I would upgrade....

More details will help us out, thanks.

thanks for the feed back everyone, I'm gonna wait a bit, personally my battery life doesn't make it through my day so this is the major reason to upgrade. Also I don't have tweaks that I *must* have. I could live without them and it wouldnt be a problem. Still thinking though... So far it seems from my point of view that I should update.
Again thanks everyone! keep posting those poll results and your feedback.

Before, it was.. Alright. I could just make it through my usage-heavy day on a full charge. On the beta, I had little to no worries about how much battery I'd is get, as it lasted all day and them some.

Unfortunately, I can't give you numbers, but that should sum it up...

I'd saying going from 5 hours of use to 1 hour of use would be amazing lol that's a dramatic difference.

after a hour or two listing pros and cons I ended up upgrading, either way if I wanted to JB I'll do it when the 5.1 comes out.
Battery actually is improved not so drastically but its not that stupid locking your phone and check the time at school and its already at 80% and you didnt even look at it since it was at 100% (This is a hypothetical situation). But you guys should get what I'm saying.
    Do I like it?
Yeah theirs not much of a difference and very oddly the retina display seems more crisper than when I was jailbroken idk why. but anyways.
If you like jailbreaking and can make through your day DO NOT UPGRADE
    other than that enjoy!
    thanks everyone once again.
