How is that funny? It's just confusing for most people: 1st Gen = iPhone ("2G") 2nd Gen = iPhone 3G 3rd Gen = iPhone 3GS 4th Gen = iPhone [insert something here] ("4G", even though it definitely doesn't have a 4G radio) EDIT: To stay on topic, I'm pretty sure it IS legit. The 4.0 beta SDK documentation has refernces to various new hardware features like a front camera, flash and torch, etc. Also, iChat's "video chat invitation/connection/..." sounds are in the UISounds directory.
4th Gen = Iphone HD Seems to be consensus around here if it does not end up running a 4g network which it sounds like it will not.
I would think that the spcs won't be that much better than iPhone 3GS though, since there is not so much you can do to make the 3GS much better.
@ bahamutspirit They might add the same a4 SoC present on the ipad, it would upgrade both cpu and gpu and increase memory bandwidth and the front facing camera, new design etc.
I am sure they will add the new SoC, but they may also degrade the clock speed down to some number that is closer to the current value of the iPhone 3GS to preserve battery life. But I bet some people will cry about it if it happens... Front-facing camera is still a myth at this point because people "unearthed" some lines in the firmware. For all we know, Apple might just be playing with things until they are ready. Much like the iPod Touch with camera we saw a while back.
Yeah, no one get your hopes up, but the evidence to a camera is pretty strong (actual phone, code myths, and video chat options in OS4) compared to the ipod touch 3g.

Sell it right now. You will not get much for it once the general public knows that the iphone 4g is out and will be at stores soon.
