So I just got a "BodyGuardz" protector on my iPhone 4 at the mall. When I got home my phone kept saying "This accessory is not optimized for this iPhone, etc". I then checked and saw that one of my water damage indicators has been triggered, the one by the dock connector. So I wanted to know if I were to even return/exchange my phone would they still take it or say it has water damage? Like do both indicators have to be triggered? Also is there anything I could do to maybe get rid of it or cover up the pink on the indicator? Thanks.

They'd say water damage is non-refundable. Put it in rice for a few days.

Try the bag/bowl of rice, it will absorb the moisture, but won't turn the indicator back to white.

like its not wet at all, i think that when they put it on they used too much of the liquid stuff and a little seeped through. And other than that message the phone works perfectly.

Then there's nothing to worry about.

Take care of your phone and you won't have to return it.

Unless there's a software issue. Can't do anything about that.

Did the place you bought the protector from put it on? If so they should be liable.

Yes, I also have their number and a receipt for the screen protector.
