I'm trying to add the unlimited data to my iPhone 4 right now, so what I tried doing was using my friend's iPhone 2G and sticking in my SIM card into his 2G via micro-sim adapter.

Well, when I did, after I turn on the 2G it will say connect to iTunes. So I did, and then on iTunes it will say that the SIM card that is in the phone is not supported ( even though it's an AT&T sim card)

The thing is, my friend already has his 2G jailbroken and unlocked with ultrasnow. So, anyone know how to get around this? I am really in need for the unlimited data.

2g doesnt support 3g, mabye its a low signal area, or the adapter is interfeering with the sim

Strange how you got the "iTunes it will say that the SIM card that is in the phone is not supported" I did it with my sister iPhone 2G and worked like a charm.

Maybe cause his phone is unlock/jb?

Yes it does, that's why he used a micro sim adapter to make it fit.
