I currently have a touch 2g and want to get a smartphone. But I am stuck between either getting an iPhone 4 or a Droid (most likely Galaxy S or HTC Desire).

The main reasons for my issues are that while the Droid has the better contracts (i.e. cheaper/free phone, better download limit, etc.), the iPhone I already have the apps for and familiar with.

So I was wondering if there was anyone here which has had/used both kinds of phones and wondering what you think is better.

One of my main concerns are how difficult is the Droid compared to iPhone, performance and what are the apps like?

Does it also allow for bluetooth file transfer.

Also, have they fixed the antenna issue on new revisions? For the record, I am also a Jailbreaker.

For the record, I would be buying this for:
    1. Internet
    2. apps
    3. GPS- including when walking
    4. Tethering- yeah I know you need either the extra contract or cydia.

    thank you.

iPhone 4, dont go for that CDMA bullsh*t, and android has far less apps than iPhone, also iPhone 4 is a very sexy phone all round

Get the Galaxy S bro! It's something new, and the phone is exactly the same specs wise.

Either get the iPhone 4 because when jailbroken there are limitless possibilities. But if you have the chance, take the Evo 4G over the iPhone. This thing has better specs than the iPhone 4, a HUGE ass screen, and 4G networking.

But other than the evo, get the iPhone 4.

Oh I forgot to say, I live in the UK where I have a choice of decent suppliers but right now only HDSPA is used.

The Galaxy S is just the same as the iPhone just cheaper. It's the best Android phone out atm.

Evo 4G doesn't seem to be available (at least on the decent networks) and what is the Galaxy like in the areas I described? I don't care if it's more powerful or not, I just want to be able to do what I want.

The Galaxy S does everything you said and internet tethering is free on it, also the iPhone still doesn't allow Bluetooth transfer :/ Also the Evo 4G is only out in America.

How good is it though, i.e. the apps, web browser, etc.

My dad's WM6.1 smartphone does what I have asked but it's a pile of ****.
