    Hello
So after redsn0w came out I was thinking about purchasing an iPhone 4 to use on t-mobile. Since my whole family uses T-mobile and AT&T sucks (IMO) I would try the iPhone 4 on T-Mobile. A few questions came up that I had to think about.
    1. On Apple's website it says that an iPhone MUST come with an AT&T contract. This is absolutely necessary, correct? If I was to do this, I would have to pay both AT&T and T-Mobile costs, correct?
    2. Is it possible to use any SIM card from T-Mobile from any phone on the iPhone 4?
    3. Would it probably be better to get a T-Mobile phone?

I know I sound like an absolute noob, but it was just a few things after reading around. Thanks

1- You can buy unlocked iPhone's for any network, or pay to have them unlocked after you have purchased them.
2- This should be possible to use both contract and pay and go t-mobile sim cards.
    3-No - get an iPhone!

So I can go to a T-Mobile retailer and they would have it unlocked?

No, I think you can unlock the phone yourself after jailbreaking (Im not sure). Otherwise you go to mobile-unlocking repair shops in your local area.

you can't go to T-Mobile and ask for an unlocked iphone 4. you'll have to buy an iphone from the internet, which will be a pretty penny...then have it unlocked to use it with T-Mobile, unless its a factory unlocked phone. then you'd be set to go

    Wait okay, so
    1. Buy iPhone 4 from Apple's website with AT&T contract.
    2. Get T-Mobile sim card
    3. Unlock with redsn0w
    4. Put in Sim
    5. Works with T-Mobile?

Correct me if I am wrong somewhere.

Your wrong because redsn0w cant jailbreak/unlock iPhone 4, no jailbreak software has been released for iPhone 4 yet.
