    I hav iPhone 3GS 5.1.1 semi-tethered jailbreak.
So I encountered as the problem with the blank icons such FieldTest, iOS Diagnostics e.t.c. The tutorial said that i had to do harde reset, so I did. And then i realised that i have to pass it through redsno0w to boot properly. From that point the process goes up to "exploiting with l1mera1n" or something and stops there, meanwhile my iPhone boots up normally(semi-tethered).
How to fix it?(Sorry for my english, I 'm greek)

So what exactly is the problem?

Uninstall simi-tether then you’ll simply want to launch Cydia and search for and install the “Rocky Racoon 5.1.1 Untether” package. Then, reboot your device and you will have an untethered jailbreak without needing to restore or lose any content.

That's why I suggest you use Rocky Racoon.
