I want to jailbreak my iPhone 3gs running 3.0.1

I don't need to unlock it, but I heard push notifications get messed up and confused where they should be sent when you unlock. Does the same thug happen when you just jailbreak?

Also, does the phone slow down or lag at all?

Can I get mms working if I unlock? I'm not talking about an extra app or anything. I mean true mms through the standard SMS app.

I know how to jailbreak, so I don't need help with that. There is a crazy amount of videos to show you how to do that.

    Thanks. Any help appreciated.

To my experience so far, I haven't had any problems with my phone slowing down, Lagging, Or acting strange.

No. There has been no word of it yet, Believe me... When your able to, You will know. All of the complaining little kids will be posting about it non-stop.

If your going to use Redsn0w, Then make sure when selecting the firmware you pick firmware 3.0. Firmware 3.0.1 is a branch off of 3.0, Mainly to fix the SMS Vulnerability. So, When selecting the firmware... Select 3.0 NOT 3.0.1!

    Thanks.

Have you heard anything about push notifications getting sent to the wrong phones? I read that it only happens to unlocked phones, but was wondering if that also happened on jailbreaked phones.

I'm pretty sure it's unlocked phones only.

Yeah, that only happens to unlocked iPhones.

As long as your with AT&T there's no need to worry, even if you're jailbroken.

I have an unlocked and jailbroken phone, and my phone is fine.

If you download a lot of MobileSubstrate addons, then potentially it can lag.

I think theres a way, but im not sure, you going to have to research on that on your own.

Alright. Last question. If I jailbreak and such, I know it will void my warranty. Say something happens to my iPhone and I have to go to the genius bar, can I just restore my phone and erase it's history of being jailbroken? Or will there be a way for them to see that I messed with my phone and not be able to issue me a replacement?

A DFU restore will remove all traces of a jailbreak.

That's just when you boot into that restore mode then restore right?
