I already know that the jailbreak is coming soon and I got the ECID stuff together. I've jailbroken my iPod Touch 2G, and everything was fine. I'm just wondering, will jailbreaking my new iPhone 3GS hold any risks or remove any features? Also, is it safe or will Apple "find out?" For that reason, I chose not to register just in case.

The reason I ask is because I believe that when you unlock it, you lose the visual voicemail feature or something. I don't plan on unlocking because I have AT&T, but if it doesn't remove anything, then why not

    Thanks in advance.

Its not going to remove any features. Apple won't find out unless you tell them or give it to them. You can always DFU and restore the software and Apple will never know. The visual voicemail requires special things on the carriers end, non iPhone carriers don't usually have the capability for visual voicemail.

Ok, that's good to hear. Would the restore completely reset the iPhone back to normal to the point where no one could find out?

The dev team wouldnt release a jailbreak if it was harmful to your device.

I went to the apple store today, and a "friend" of mine gave me a stiff warnin'; the 3GS has the ability to track any hacks performed on it *ahem apps*

DFU mode is no longer a safety feature, be careful, although I'll Jailbreak anyway.

You asked an Apple Employee. What kind of answer would you expect?

Alright I have a general question now - What does 3G do exactly? I know that 3G allows faster internet connections for faster downloads and stuff. But does it affect calling? Does it get a better signal?

I'm just wondering because Apple includes battery information for 3G talk time compared to 2G talk time.
