    Hi,
Unfortunately I have updated my iphone to 3.1.3 firmware!!!!

I have a custom ipsw but when I try and restore it through itunes, it tells me that I cant. The reason being that it verifies the ipsw with itunes. Is there anyway of overriding this verification?

Is there an older version of itunes that can be used which doesnt check the ipsw? I am sure when I jailbroke my ipod touch a few years ago it didnt check with itunes.

Or any other application that can put the ipsw onto my iphone?

New iPhones and iPods need to have their IPSW's signed by Apple in order to be installed. Did you by chance jailbreak this phone before?

I have had a quick read. The issue I have is related to the network coverage and charges. The main reason for me jailbreaking my iphone is this and so that I am not tied to a network provider that charges a extortionate amount of money for there service!!!!

So it is really important, to me, that a 3.1.3 is released soon.

Not sure whether or not this is right but my sister is with me and she said she downgraded and unlocked her iPhone on 3.1.3 using the software on Answernode.com (apparently free).

I don't have an iPhone yet so I don't know personally, but hope that helps anyway.

Beyond your unlock/jailbreak issues - how do you like the 3GS?
