I just have a few questions about the iPhone plans...

    1. I know the ETF is $175 after 30 days, and none before that. Can I cancel before 30 days and keep the iPhone without an ETF?

    2. If not, Will any charges be incurred AT ALL after I pay the ETF?

    3. Is there any catch to paying the ETF? Because buying the No-Contract iPhone Directly cost $599, and canceling cost (199+60+70+175) ~$500.

I posted this on the AT&T forums and they haven't been of much help.

    Anyways, thanks for the help...

    1. No, there's no ETF but you don't get your iPhone and it goes back to AT&T.
    2. Shouldn't be any after you pay ETF.
    3. I don't think so.

the post above has all the right answers.

im thinking about doing this also, you then have an unlocked iphone and can put an old at&t simcard in and hopefully not have to pay the $30 month charge.

Actually, you can't use another AT&T Plan with the iPhone (to the extent of my knowledge), but you can use it with any other plan in any other country. (SIM Card)
