I have heard that the iPhone 3G is going to be un-jailbreakable, Apple has definitely done everything they can to prevent a jailbreak. I have also heard that Apple has locked down the iPhone so much that even if you WANTED to unlock it after you somehow got your hands on one without a contract that it would be nearly impossible.

    well....here we go...

    on the iphone 3g:
-you can't pwn them(yet)...they fixed the peep hole on the boot that allowed us to do so
-you can't activate them yourself....only those guys at the at&t/apple store can activate your phone....this might be a problem on jailbreaking iphones
-however, aside from these two issues...its all in the firmware, which has been proven to be "jailbreakable" time and time again...

so i would say there is definatly hope for jailbreaking the 3g iphone.....just no chance for pwning anytime soon.

I am very sad that it might be unjailbreakable...
I was all excited but now that it will be unjailbreakable. The iPhone won't be at its best

I wonder if it could be possible to emulate AT&Ts software that activates the iPhones? Someone could possibly leak it.

I'm sure apple is extremely confident that it is safe but, It's not safe the dev team will have a jailbreak within the first week it comes out, i beleive in them.

especially with safari. anyhting with safari is at risk to be hacked. safari is the weakest browser and its even worse on a mobile device. they will find a way to unlock.

Proof? No one actually has an iPhone3G yet, let alone the final Master Gold 2.0 firmware, and every 2.0 beta firmware seeded has been jailbroken/pwned so far.

WTF! I didn't know you can't activate them yourself.

    Hmm...
    THIS shows the exact opposite.
Well, that was before the 3G iPhone...
Although I own a touch, I'm kinda sad that you now can't get an iPhone without activating it at AT&T BEFORE you buy it. Like the German T-Mobile stores...

We just have to wait to see if it is jailbreakable
I'm lucky since I'm getting it in August I'll be aware of it being jailbreakable
My brother and my dad plan on getting it the first day - if its even in stock.
