I have an iPhone 3G MB Model. I want to jailbreak it on iOS 4. I already have a tut on how to do that (From here) But I want to know when I backup my iPhone, will it automatically backup all my contacts and message?

If not, how can I do this?

Yea, look at the top middle of itunes while in sync and it should say backing up _'s ipod or something along those lines. I'm pretty sure it backs up everything unless you specifically told itunes not to.

If your contacts are syncing with that computer and you back up your iPhone, they will not be deleted from the computer when you restore or jailbreak.

if your iphone is currently not jailbroken, itunes will backup and restore everything. if it is however, itunes will only backup and restore apple related stuff, like contacts, calender, app data, etc. it will not backup cydia apps, etc.
