with the new release of the iPhone 3gs they put the iPhone 3g at only $99. I was looking to go buy one but I was wondering: can I go and buy an iPhone 3g and remove the sim card so I don't have to pay for service but still use all the other things that the iPhone has to offer?

You can remove the SIM, but you are still paying for it...

Why would you get an iPhone if you are going to remove the sim card? Might as well get an iTouch (unless you want the camera).

One more question: If I want to do this I must cancel the contract. The AT&T website said if you xancel the contract within 30 days theres no cancellation fee and if you cancel within 3 das there will be no activation fee. So all expenses are gone except for the price the the iPhone but thats normal. Now i want to know If i must return the iPhone, and does it matter where i Bought it?
    Please help me.
