Yeah, this has been known for a while, as Rogers is the parent company of Fido.

Ha, I didn't even consider that Canada had more options than the US.

But the fact that Fido is carrying the phone as well as Rogers is awesome. Rogers is well, not my preference. Fido has some very cheap plans; reasonable middle-class, even student-like plans. That per-second billing is really a nice touch too. Plus, I'm already using Fido so I'll be upgrading after my plan is done in a year.

The thing is, the iPhone won't be treated like every other phone.

So usually, you can swap your old phone for another phone at a discounted price with the same plan. But because it's an iPhone you'll most likely have to get a new plan (cancel your old plan) OR buy the iPhone at full price and switch SIM cards. But the price of an iPhone 3G without a contract is probably going to go for $500-600?

Plus, I would recommend waiting. It seems like an iPhone will be released every year or so, so it's probably best to wait for the next iPhone with a better camera or copy/paste function and let your current Fido plan finish. And it's cheaper too. But thats depends on your patience and if you absolutely must have it right now.
