I own an insured iPhone 3G 16GB, and seeing as they're discontinuing it I was wondering if I happened to accidently break it, lets say a couple months after the iPhone 3G release, would I receive an iPhone 3G 16GB as a replacement.

I'm only asking since my girlfriend broke her samsung a few months ago and since that model had been discontinued they sent her the upgraded model. Not saying I will deliberately go and destroy my phone.. (Although it would make a cool "Will it Blend" episode)

they're only selling the 8GB iPhone 3G from the 19th.
I took out my contract less than a month ago hoping O2 would offer the upgrade like they did for the 2G - 3G, the sales guy i spoke to even put on my file i wanted an upgrade if a new iPhone was released because otherwise I wouldn't sign..

I'm not willing to pay £440 for the new handset.. Its just the principle that I don't want an 'old' device

. Not too sure if I really want to accidently drop the baby anytime soon (its still all shiny and new).

I was very upset to hear i had to pay £440 for new model, seems kind of tight from O2, esp since they update 1st to 3g for a small price.

How sure are you iPhone 8gb 3g is only one they sell?

    EDIT
checked O2 site and your right, 8Gb is only option :O.

Ive had iPhone 3g for 8 months so im under warrently, ill try replace a month after 3Gs release

They'll most likely give you a refurb.
