hi, im looking into buying an iphone 2g on craigslist. i've seen them sell for $230-$270 there. what is the main difference between the iphone 2g and 3g. is the iphone 2g worth buying? i've heard alot of people on the forum saying that the iphone 2g is crap, and saying to buy the 3g, i want to know why.

The only advantage the 2G has is it can be unlocked with a software no matter what FW it's on.
You can just google the differences. Easier and faster..

If I were you, I'd get the 3G.

The 3G has RAPE prices on craigslist LOL. The 2G isn't that different from the 3G to be honest, especially if you have T-mobile you can't use the 3G anyway

    .

That's why I ask myself why did I spend 500$ on a 3G when I could have got a 2G for 250$ less that does the same thing? Why? Because the 3G is just too sexy and I like being up to date

. Plus it's nice to be able to go to the store and buy a case instead of the sales person saying, " Oh the 2G cases? We don't have those but we have 3G cases :O"

The new 3.0 software release is geared more towards the 3G and some of the cool new features aren't designed to work with the 2G.

I was happy with my 2G but just happened to find a good deal on my 3G.

If you're not going to use it on AT&T, get the 2G. I have it, and it's flat out amazing. If you are going to use AT&T, get the 3G so you can get the speeds.

Not anytime soon....T-Mobile and at&t use different frequencies for their 3G signals.
