Guys.. please help me out here.. i really need help...

ok, so here is the situation. I got a used iphone 2g from someone that i know.. and im in some other country and i unlocked it and "used" the iphone well till i pressed <Erase all contents and settings> to erase all contacts and other stuffs.. then i found out that it takes over an hour and the loop does not go away, it keeps happening so i pressed sleep/wake and home butten for 7 seconds and let go of the home button, kept on pressing the sleep/wake butten till the iphone turned off completely.

I downloaded the iphone FW 3.0.1 and extracted it and now restoring but i only see the "Restoring iphone software" and it stops like at 5/6 of the process..

    what should i do?

Please help me, iphone is the only phone i have... right now.

You need to enter DFU mode.

    Use google.

Enter DFU Mode by doing this:

    Plug it into your computer.
Hold home & power for 15 seconds.
After 15 seconds, release the power button but keep holding the home button.
Continue holding the home button until you hear a beep on your computer

Let the "iBoot DFU Mode Device" install, and then open iTunes.
Press RESTORE, rather than Shift+Clicking to a downloaded firmware.

    There you go.
