Yes, you can. Just DFU + shift-click Restore to 2.0.x

I'm not savy on all the aspects of the 2.1 firmware (I'm not sure if it's even possible to attain a beta), but if you got the beta then you'd need to have the iPod "pwned" in order to run unsigned code, the beta/custom firmware, via WinPwn (Windows) or PwnageTool (Mac).

As for the downgrade, it should work as any other firmware, just have the 2.0.x firmware on hand to shift-click restore, and you should be set.
(Any errors occur then go into Recovery or DFU mode)

That's only because normal people don't know about DFU.

O thanks, now, um is the sdk the same thing as the beta?

Nevermind the sdk is the app development.

The SDK is Apple's Software Development Kit, so the program on a Mac that enables developing applications, TTR, SMB, etc, on the iPhone and Touch.

The beta is the actual Firmware, iPhone, 2.1.

These two are connected considering you must be accepted by Apple to attain the SDK and the beta (beta may be a bit more exclusive. Someone should know specifics)

yeah, i know you have to be a dev to download the beta, but you can download the sdk from their website, it's the training that costs 99 bucks.

If its anything like the last betas your probably going to get that old pink screen of death or something else of equal or greater annoyance if your not a paying developer.

Paying developer...........still does not sound right to me.......meh.

er yea the beta. If you find a copy try to install it and let us know how it goes. DFU should fix any problems.
