hi, last week i dropped my iphone on a wooded floor at my friends house and the hlaf the screen is untouchable. the top half doesnt work the the bottom half does. when i try to press the sms button on top it doesnt work, basicly the first 8 apps isnt really touchable and the bottom does. i can click on muisc and other apps thats on the dock. so i was wondering if it the lcd or the digitizer's problem so i can order the part and fix it myself. thanks

The digitizer is what senses the touch and that is what is broken on yours.

However, if you need a 2G digitizer you will have to get the entire screen / LCD / Digitizer as one piece.

They are separate pieces but they are glued together with some damn sticky stuff and you won't be able to separate them without damaging the other pieces (I have tried more than once).

You will save money in the long run by just buying the entire setup the first time around.
