iPad is just an ipod touch with a bigger screen right? like you cant make phone calls from it can you? I just want to confirm this, because some people are saying its an iphone with a bigger screen and some are saying its an ipod touch with a bigger screen.

Yes. You cannot make calls from the iPad. How ridiculous would that look?

Oh, and the iPad is much more than just a "big iPod touch." It is more powerful, and has way better features.

Well, you technically can use it as a phone if you have the 3G version and use Skype.

Nothing through AT&T, though, except for using their data plans.

Well, it's actually the other way around. The iPod Touch and iPhone are smaller versions of the iPad...

    Steve said so yesterday.

In any case, I have heard that ATT already allowed you to use Skype over their 3G network, and technically, you can use the iPad as a Skype phone since it has built-in microphone and speaker. I don't use Skype, otherwise, I would love to try it out for you.

You can make calls, using apps from the app store, but I believe this forum prohibits the naming of apps. It's a legit App Store app though

There's nothing wrong with talking about an application.

It's against the rules to talk about how you get it, unless from iTunes.

Everything in a nutshell: Don't talk about piracy and you're safe.

It's called Whistle and it's in the FREE! Just give them your email and create a free account. Ad supported before each call, but quality is pretty good (on fast wifi) I don't know if it works on 3G, but there is an iPad and iPod Touch version. Plus you get your own number! App must be open to receive calls
