This is is the best way to explain what I mean

Let's say I have a picture with the resolution 1024x768 perfect for the iPad! Let's say it's a planet in the center, but when I flip the iPad into portrait it cuts the planet off showing only some of the planet and the stars, when the main focus is the planet!

How would I show it perfectly in the center in portrait and show the whole picture in landscape?

Usually the best iPad wallpapers are 1024x1024 so that it's full res in both portrait and landscape. I'm not sure what you mean though. Could you post some screenshots if that would help?

I think he means that when in landscape its the normal wallpaper but in portrait it zooms in.

try it for yourself with an image from google or something.

Wallpapers need to be 1024x1024 in order for them to look good in both orientations

Or alternatively, when setting the wallpaper in the Settings app, use your finger to zoom/position the image, then rotate the iPad until the planet is centered, or however you want it to be.

Exactly why I said what I did. Whatever the resolution is, as long as both x and y are the same, it's not going to zoom.
