I've read 16GB and 32GB. In any case, the specs look great, but... where's the actual tablet? I don't mean to rain on the parade, but... this thing is not looking too promising considering we haven't seen it in real yet.

That aside, iPad is nearing the 4.2 update that will add most of the features they were showing for the Playbook, and if you jailbreak, you get even more. I think the holiday season is going to be interesting...

The BB PlayBook is geared more toward the business type people, while the iPad (IMO) is geared toward the general masses. My dad is planing to get it as it is perfect for people like him, but I won't be getting one.

I think with this, Apple finally has a real competitor to the iPad.

Apple made the tablet viable. And caught them by surprise.

The Playbook does look good as does all the other new tablets coming our way. However, Blackberry only did an early launch to try and stop people buying more ipads. The device was behind thick glass so no one could try it.

And don't forget as it's not being released until next year it's not competing with the iPad but the iPad 2.

Also, I still think my current iPad is good enough and better in many ways. 64gb memory. 3G. And the Apple iTunes, App infrastructure. It going to take a while to beat it..

I am sure there will be proper alternatives soon, but my setup is all Apple now so there is no turning back as too costly especially with the cost of all the apps spent etc..

I would never get a Playbook over an iPad, but that's because I want the App Store. I'm not a business-type of person.

Although my mum is the business type of person, she says she would still pick an iPad over "this thing." I love how she is thinking.

I think it's all about personal opinion, both have functionality. But you trade one with high end apps for more processing power and hardware.

1 Ghz Dual-Core processor , 1GB Ram , Dual HD cameras (3 MP front facing, 5 MP rear facing), supports 1080p HD video recording.

I think the iPad just became obsolete
