    OK, comments are up.

Sorry for everyone who wanted to chime in but couldn't. Really weird WordPress bug... (shocking, right?)

This sucks... hopefully there will be a tweak for it.

that sucks. I like it the way it is more. Mute can be a software thing, or they can make a seperate button for it (very tiny one, though!)

I believe that this was announced at the June event.

There already is for iPhone I think.

I'm really not supportive of this. Yes, you CAN still use the toggle in the multitasking bar, but from a user's perspective it is more convenient for it to be rotation lock. How often will an iPad user need to mute their device in the time of a switch motion? Or even want to?

It makes sense though that iPhones have this, because cell phone users need to mute their cell phone every time they enter class, mettings, church or an otherwise formal situation. And so it is convenient.

And convenience is what Apple products are all about right? The way app store purchases take a few clicks; the way iTunes, Macs, iDevices and Apple TVs integrate together; the way Macbooks fully awake from sleep instantly when you lift the lid up (you don't even see a blank screen, it's like they never even went to sleep).

    Ummm, yeah no it wasn't.

The reason this is newer is because of the confirmation by Stevie J.

Anyways, if its to old for you, do one (or both!) of the following:
    • Don't read it.
    • Don't comment.

Also, I'm sure there are plenty of iPad users who have no idea that this change is coming in the next major update. So, for their sake, its there.

Sorry if this seems rude, but come on.

Doesn't make sense to me. The iPad isn't a phone- there are already volume up/down buttons. There will surely be a tweak on Cydia to change this behavior, no doubt about it.

The weirdest part about this is that the bluetooth keyboard has a mute key already. So now is that key going to become null??? Or is is going to invert the mute switch on the iPad? With the keyboard's mute key in mind, it really is better to leave the physical switch with the rotation lock function and to put mute in the multitasking bar.
