I would go for iPod Touch 4G. It's compact, user friendly, great for on the go, fun games, apps, along with the 2 cameras. I would say go for the Touch. But the decision is all yours.

They're not the same device. That's like saying "Should I get a Windows notebook, or a Zune?"

Seriously, get the one that does what you need it for.

Touch. It has more than the iPad.

depends on what you want. iPod touch has more portability, some extra features (facetime/2 cameras), more of a gaming device. iPad is more geared towards a tablet computer-type device IMO but also provides many of the same features as the iPod touch minus the new hardware features and portability, but it has a nice big screen which is great for movies and such and can support work apps such as Pages for typing papers and email is probably a bit easier on it. so decide what you are looking for in a device and then pick. personally i'm going with the touch since the iPad wouldn't serve much purpose for me as i have a macbook that i use all the time.

I have an iphone 2g and an ipod touch 1g. I want a tablet like the ipad because it's great for email, typing, reading books and running bochs

But I heard ios4 is incredible. Hopefully it will come out for the ipad.

Besides, I have someone who will pay for half of the ipad. Now what?
