I noticed this while messing with my friends ipad. Type text, then copy it. Paste it. Then copy all of it, then paste that. Now keep copy pasting so that the note gets extremely long. When it freezes, quit. Open notes back up, and wait. It will seem to freeze, and when it finally responds, all of your notes will be gone.
    WTF

I can try this on my iPod later...

I doubt this is exploitable, though.

Just tried it. Died at copying 1000 letters. It totally froze, but I did not lose my other notes or the previous 500 letters in the most recent note. You probably did something worse...

I didnt have any thought of exploits. Just as a bug.

I'm pretty sure this is an iPad only bug since it's in the firmware 3.2 and there hasn't been an update for it since it came out.

I really don't see the need to do something just to make something break?? Who needs a note with a 1000 words anyway.
Too much time on your hands and No common sense! The definition of some of today's youth!

Do you remember the exploit that allowed the very first jailbreak? It was a Safari crash. Making things break is a central part of this entire community!

It could be used as an exploit though.

Couldn't someone use it like the wii exploit where they overflow it with text then when it crashes they do something?
