The rumored 7.85" tablet dubbed 'iPad mini' is to have an keynote for October 17th. Press invites are said to be sent on the 10th. It's also suggested it'll be released on the 2nd of November. With price points predicted to be $299 for the base model, it's no doubt it'll be a hit. Is this rumor a rumor or the truth? Ask Fortune. Watch this man (known as "Andy") handle a $13 iPad mini dummy while you wait, yes?
Well, it is a rumour, I'm sure well find out shortly if the dates are correct. Considering how much we knew about the iPhone 5 and how little was known about the iPod touch before their release dates, anything's possible.
I don't understand why they'd do 7.8". Haven't the 7" tablets out right now already proved that it's a pretty much perfect size between smartphones and a 10" tablet?
I will still be getting the 5th Generation iPod Touch. I can see Apple refreshing all of their iPads before the end of the year so that by the end of 2012 all of their mobile devices sport the lightning connector.
What a pointless question. Right now, it's a rumor. Even if you believe that Apple will host a keynote at that date or that Apple will indeed release an iPad mini - it remains rumor until Apple confirms it. On topic, since I don't need a tablet (happy with MBA and iPhone) I don't actually care for a smaller iPad.
I doubt this because the pricing doesn't make sense. The iPod touch is already occupying that price point. It doesn't fit.
