This is a discussion thread for the "'iPad Mini' Could Have Display Akin to iPhone 3GS" story posted on the front page.
I'm hoping for a 1280x800 resolution though. But it would make sure to have a resolution of the 1st and 2nd iPad (1024x768). I'm also hoping for an 'iPad Mini'.
Good to hear rumors of this still floating around I wouldn't mind picking one of these up, as long as the price is right and there is a 64gb option.
Personally, I think the "iPad Mini" is a horrible idea. We already have those, Apple. It's called the iPod Touch.
I honestly would rather have an 8-inch device to use as a tablet than an iPod Touch. Yes, the screen size makes a difference, in case you were wondering.
I think there's room for iPad, iPod touch, and iPad mini. They all have differences that benefit them, iPod touches are iPods with Internet and app capabilities, the iPad is a great device with many well rounded uses, and the iPad mini would be the ideal product for those who desire iPad features without an iPad price tag. It I would be a great alternative to the nook or kindle, similar size, price, just with the iOS benefits that many enjoy. The iPod touch won't die because of an iPad mini. Heck I might get an iPad mini and leave the iPad for home use only, it can be a bit much to carry when out and about. Or I might get a new touch, who knows? Awesome that the resolution won't add a new challenge to devs too. Their work is tough enough! ;D
