Doubt it. If I wanted a device with a lot of functions, I'd get a laptop. The iPad just provides a new (not necessarily better) way to interact with the internet/computers

With a windows like OS, short battery life, spinning hard drive and as many virus programs that you can fit on the system before it crashes like a kid driving a bumper car I doubt it.

It will only sell to those who don't like the iPad.

I don't think it is an iPad killer, as they both do different things kinda, depends on what the user needs i guess.

Id choose iPad over HP Slate, only because i prefer the UI and the battery life etc.

I wouldn't really consider it an iPad killer. Its just like every other Windows tablet wrapped in a new shell. I'd say any Android based tablet has a better chance at competition then anything with Windows on them in my opinion.

The whole [Apple product] Killer thing is also getting rather old too. Whatever happened to just plain competition? Funny you never hear about any Windows killer in the news.

Every new smartphone is labeled an iPhone killer and every new tablet is labeled an iPad killer.

The thing is, it never works out. These companies just don't have the user experience and market impact that Apple do.

This comment hurts my brain. So you'd rather have a device that doesn't necessarily do anything better over something with more functions? Over something that can do the same equally, plus more... Form over function... that all backwards!

On topic: No, it's not shinny enough and HP's marketing lacks the brainwashing powers. See above.
