Just read that the majority of iPad games just have the HD or XL tag added to them (Grind HD, Labyrinth 2 HD, Plants vs. Zombies HD, Sparkle HD, Worms HD).

Which makes me wonder -- are these New Games or just rehashes of the previous versions with upscaled graphics? If the games are just rehashes I expect a lot of people will be disappointed on April 3rd -- when they first use their iPad with the AppStore

I'm not sure about thisĀ“and I only know Labyrinth 2, from this list. But i think they will give us just bigger levels in this "HD" - version. But the game itself is great, and on the iPad with big levels. Don't think customers will be disappointed.

yea they are ported and upscaled games to make them fully accessible to the big screen, different from just changing the graphics or doubling the screen size. I would assume Nova is gonna have the same thing "N.O.V.A HD" ... but then there will be the apps that start to get released that don't have an iPhone counterpart, we will just have to see

I predict many developers won't change their games as much as some are hoping.
Most will probably add some extra touch gestures and be at a higher resolution.

That's what the HD and XL tag is for, isn't it?

We'll have to wait and see.

We also have to bear in mind the fact that while the offerings may be of this sort at the beginning, once other people beyond the big development houses get their hands on the iPad, more original stuff will start coming out.
