    1. This is legal to post due to the fact that this firmware is...
    a.) From apples server.
b.) Will come stock on all iPad's, so it will be used.

    2. Is there any way to run this on a device to see how it will work?

I know that now Geo and P0isxninja can check if their exploits still work though. This is just for people that know how to pick and prod at firmwares though.

Their exploits may/ may not work on an actual iPad, regardless of the firmware, because of the hardware itself.

If you honestly give me a reason, I'll remove it. But it directs straight to apples server and it will come on the ipad so it doesn't violate rules.

This is legitimate. It comes from Apple's servers and the company does not charge for it. Feel free to distribute this link.

What would happen if you tried restoring this to an ipod?

Your iPod would be dead. The firmware doesn't have the same drivers as the iPad doesn't have the EXACT SAME HARDWARE, and it'd fail to boot correctly so you'd be stuck with a black screen and forced to DFU Restore. This is, of course, assuming you're not using a 32 or 64GB 3G Touch, which wouldn't be able to authenticate the firmware image and would fail to install in the first place.
