I did a lot of research to find the best bang for your buck, and this is what I've found.

It's the Kensington K62911US Reversable Sleeve for Netbooks ranging from 7 to 9 inches. From the reviews on Amazon, this sleeve fits the iPad snugly, almost as if it was intended for that purpose.

This is great for any iPad users who carry their iPad with them wherever they go, but don't want to take away the look. It's also great for maintaining a low profile to keep muggers away! (seriously... someone's finger has already gotten ripped off over an iPad) The case is built to protect a laptop, so it should be basically drop proof.

If you decide to purchase the Switcheasy Nude Case for the iPad along with this sleeve, you get three times the amount of protection you would get with the Official iPad Case for a few dollars less.

    So you're wondering how much?

    5.49$ (USA)

You can grab yours on eBay, and I'd recommend buying it before the seller decides to raise the price.

Click here to buy your sleeve!

It is a sleeve. It won't really protect at all in the case of a drop.

Yeah it would... it's a soft material. It's like sandwiching your iPad between two pieces of foam. As far as I know, foam is a great shock absorber.

There is not nearly enough foam there to be a good shock absorber, sorry.

More so than Apple's case or any other thin case I've seen. There's definitely some shock protection with this case.

Again, there's not nearly enough foam to be a good shock absorber.

I don't see why everyone says it's not protective... it covers the whole thing, screen and all.
